Prisons
Preparing prisoners for employment and resettlement through realistic AI simulations that build confidence, strengthen communication and develop interview skills.

Case study - Job Interviews
Offenders who secure employment after release are up to 9% less likely to reoffend, with paid work recognised as one of the most effective ways to support reintegration. Programmes such as the New Futures Network and charities like The Clink and Bounce Back play an important role in training and improving employment prospects. However, in the year to March 2024, only 31.1% of offenders were in work six months after release, highlighting the scale of the challenge.
The Prison Reform Trust identifies low self-confidence as a major barrier to employment for people with criminal convictions. This is often compounded by mental health issues, limited education, and the legal obligation to disclose unspent convictions to employers.
Our solution
Working with a UK prison, we have developed an AI-powered interview simulation to help prisoners build confidence, practise essential communication skills and improve their employment prospects.
Through realistic job interviews with AI interviewers, participants practise their technique and receive personalised feedback, while Prison Education Leads gain insights into individual and cohort development.
The project has demonstrated tangible real-world impact, with a number of prisoners attributing recent employment successes to the preparation they received. One participant highlighted a significant boost in confidence and a greater understanding of their own strengths.
